Public Employment in the Regional Administration of Madeira continued to decrease in the 2^nd quarter 2017

The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) releases today on its official statistics website data on public employment in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. These data comes from the Directorate-General for Administration and Public Employment, more precisely from SIEP (Synthesis of Public Employment Statistics) and BOEP (Bulletin of Public Employment Statistics).

In the 2^nd quarter 2017

Public Employment in the Regional Administration of Madeira continued to decrease

The provisional data show that at 30/06/2017 there were 19,267 persons working in the Regional Administration of Madeira. This represents a decrease when compared with the year-ago quarter of 360 persons (-1.8%) and of 49 persons (-0.3%) when compared with the previous quarter.

At 31/12/2011 the number of persons working in the Regional Administration of Madeira stood at 21,354. This figure declined in a more pronounced way until the 3^rd quarter of 2016, being the value of the 2^nd quarter 2017 the minimum of the available series (which begins on the 4^th quarter 2011).

In the aggregate of the country’s Public Administrations, the number of workplaces decreased by 0.2% from the previous quarter and increased by 1.3% from the year-ago quarter.
