[Note: In terms of the monthly release for the reference year of 2023, the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) maintains the same reporting model from the previous year, which encompasses hotels, rural tourism, and all types of local accommodations, regardless of the number of beds. However, it's important to note that Statistics Portugal (INE) excludes local accommodations with fewer than 10 beds from its reporting. As a result, in this press release, in the “In Focus” section, and in the tables published by DREM, a higher overall total is mentioned compared to INE, particularly regarding guests and overnight stays. For variables such as occupancy rates, rooms, revenues, and personnel costs, the values coincide with those of INE because their calculations exclude local accommodations with fewer than 10 beds.]
